Technology Choices

Straight talk about why we do what we do   - complete with technical jargon to prove the point.  While our competitors are entitled to their own opinions – they are not entitled to their own facts…..

The Battery Pack

Laser-Blast uses NiMH battery packs, because they provide excellent value for our customers.
NiMH batteries deliver a low internal resistance, no memory buildup, and 3800 mAh per charge.
Our batteries last longer (up to six years in some cases,) require no maintenance, and can be quickly swapped out.

Real-Time Scoring vs Download

Audience Monitor

Why does Laser-Blast use radios to send data?

In addition to providing real-time scoring, radios give you unlimited game options such as Arena Rabbit and Capture the Flag to keep your members coming back again and again.

2.4 Ghz Radios vs 900 Mhz

Radio WavesFor laser tag arenas(Under 1500 feet long) 2.4Ghz radios will provide the same benefits as 900Mhz, at a lower cost. Wave-length cancellation is the primary reason; Due to much larger wavelengths, 900 Mhz radios are more prone to corner dead zones in your maze. The short wave lengths of 2.4Ghz radios eliminate the possibility of this type of intereference.

While some everyday items such as phones and wifi use 2.4 Ghz radios, the Laser-Blast software automatically searches 12 channels to find one free of interference.

Our systems have not encountered any interference problems. Even on crowded trade show floors, our radio-based systems reject all unwanted signals.

Laser-Blast's radios have been decisively proven in the field.

IR vs Laser Modulation

Nice Shot!

IR (Infrared) tagging vs “Laser Modulation”

Besides reliability and accuracy – it seems to us that the purpose of laser tag is not only to tag – but be tagged.  It is kind of the point, right? While the claims of our competitors are legion, the key among them is that their lasers are better than our lasers.  Right…..just not the case.

Let’s look into this – we have more accurate lasers because we computer calibrate and align all our lasers as part of our quality control.  To our knowledge we are the ONLY manufacturer to do so. It allows our lasers to be accurate to upwards of 150 feet.  Typically – 75 feet is what we specify to – but as is typical with our systems – better to over deliver to expectations.
